Getting to us: parking, buses and finding Shop 660 at Jansel House

We are at Shop 660, Jansel House, on Hitchin Road in Stopsley, tucked into the parade of shops with the chemist at 650 and Greggs at 658. Almost everyone finds us first time once they know to head for the shopfronts rather than the office entrance set back behind them. Below is where to leave the car, which buses stop close, and what happens when you walk in.

Finding Shop 660 at Jansel House

Jansel House catches people out because it is two things at once. There is an office block set back from the road, and there is a run of shops at street level facing Hitchin Road. We are in the shops.

The postcode LU2 7XH covers the whole building, so sat nav lands you at the block rather than at our door. Once you are on Hitchin Road, read the shop numbers along the parade. The chemist sits at 650, Greggs at 658, and we are at 660.

If you have ended up in a lobby with a lift, you have gone too far back. Come out, turn towards the shopfronts, and you will see us.

Where to park

There is no dedicated customer car park. Most of my clients park on the parade itself or on one of the residential side roads just off Hitchin Road, then walk the last thirty seconds.

The marked bays at Jansel House are allocated to the business centre tenants upstairs, so please do not use those. You will get moved on, and on a bad day you will get a ticket.

Luton Borough Council enforces parking around here properly. It issued over 93,000 penalty charge notices in the 2024 to 2025 financial year, and roughly 40 percent of those were for yellow line offences. A ten second look at the lines and the dropped kerbs before you walk away is worth it, and the council sets out what is enforced in its parking and traffic restrictions guidance.

Hitchin Road gets busy at school run time and again around lunch. If you are booked in for colour, give yourself an extra five minutes rather than arriving flustered.

Getting here by bus

Arriva route 100 runs the Luton to Stevenage corridor straight through Stopsley. The stops near us include Stopsley opposite Inspire and Stopsley adjacent to Lynwood Avenue, and either one leaves you a few minutes walk from the door.

Route 101 covers much of the same corridor, though the two services differ at some stops, so check which one you are getting on.

Roadworks along Hitchin Road do occasionally move the Stopsley stops for a few weeks at a time. Check live times before you set off and you will not get caught out.

What happens when you arrive

Come straight in. Someone will take your coat and get you a drink, and you will usually find Tasha, Sabrina or Sheree on the floor.

If this is your first colour appointment with us, we need to patch test you at least forty eight hours beforehand. That means a separate quick visit, so ring ahead and we will book it in at the same time as the colour.

Running late happens to everyone. Ring us rather than rushing. We will tell you straight whether we can still do the full service in the time left or whether it is kinder to move you.

Hours, prices and booking

We are open Tuesday and Wednesday 10 to 8, Thursday 10 to 6, Friday 10 to 3, and Saturday 10 to 4:30. We are closed Sunday and Monday.

A cut and finish runs £42 to £55, a blow dry £28 to £35, and a full balayage £70 to £85. Everything else sits on our price list so you can see the numbers before you book.
