Yes, you can use Klarna at the hairdresser. We offer it at The Hair Collective so you can split the cost of your appointment into smaller payments instead of paying the lot on the day. There is no catch and no extra fee from us, and it works on everything from a cut and finish to a full head of extensions.
The short version
Klarna lets you spread your salon bill instead of paying it all at once.
It works on every service: cuts, colour, balayage, foils and extensions.
Choose three interest free payments or pay within 30 days at the desk.
The price is identical whether you pay now or with Klarna.
Approval takes seconds and the soft check does not affect your credit score.
How Klarna works when you book
It is simple. When you come in, you settle up at the desk like normal, choose Klarna as your payment method, and it splits the bill for you. You can also sort it through the Klarna app if you prefer to manage it on your phone.
Most people pick Pay in 3, which spreads the cost over three equal payments with no interest. If you would rather pay the whole thing in one go but a few weeks later, the pay in 30 days option does that. Either way you walk out with your hair done today.
It is the same idea as buy now pay later anywhere else online, just for your hair. You get the appointment done now, the money comes out over a few weeks, and there is no paperwork at our end.
What you can put on Klarna
Anything on our price list. To give you an idea of what that covers:
A cut and finish is £42 to £55, a blow dry £28 to £35, and a full restyle £60. Hair up for a wedding or an event is £35 to £50.
On colour, a full balayage is £70 to £85 and a half is £55 to £65. Full foils run £70 to £85, a root tint is £40 to £47, and a toner is £35 to £40.
Extensions are charged by the hour: nano at £55, tape at £60 to £70, and weft at £70 to £80. These are the appointments people most often spread with Klarna, because a full head is a proper investment.
Why we brought it in
Honestly, because clients kept asking for it. A balayage with toner, or a full head of extensions, is not a small spend, and plenty of people would rather book the appointment they actually want than settle for less because of timing. Klarna lets them do that.
It takes the pressure off the bigger changes too. If you have wanted to go from box dye black to a soft balayage for years, that is usually more than one session, and being able to spread each visit makes the whole plan feel doable rather than daunting.
Colour is where it helps most, and it changes nothing about how we work. If colour is new to you we still do a patch test first, because hair dye can occasionally trigger an allergic reaction, a form of contact dermatitis, and that is not worth gambling on. Klarna only changes how you pay, never the care that goes into the chair.
And it is used by all sorts. Brides booking hair for the big day, students saving for prom, mums treating themselves after months of putting everyone else first, and regulars who simply prefer to budget month to month. There is no judgement at my chair about how anyone chooses to pay.
Is it really free?
From us, yes. We do not add a penny for using Klarna, so the price is exactly the same as paying by card on the day. The standard Pay in 3 and pay in 30 days options from Klarna are interest free when you pay on time.
That said, it is still money you are committing to. Only use it if the repayments sit comfortably in your budget. I would always rather you enjoyed your hair without worrying about the next payment landing.
