What Nobody Tells You Before Getting Extensions for the First Time

Extensions can completely change how you feel about your hair. More length, more volume, more confidence. But there are things I wish every new client knew before they sat in the chair for the first time.
Your Natural Hair Needs to Be Healthy Enough
Extensions attach to your own hair. If your hair is damaged, thin at the ends, or breaking, adding extensions can make things worse. We always assess your hair health first and we will be straight with you if it is not ready yet.
Sometimes that means doing a treatment plan for a few weeks before fitting. It is frustrating when you are excited to get them in, but it saves you from a much bigger problem down the line.
There Are Different Methods and They Are Not All the Same
We offer three types. Nano rings are tiny and invisible, great for fine or thin hair. Tapes are flat and fast to apply, brilliant for adding thickness. Wefts cover more area and add serious volume.
The right one depends on your hair type, your lifestyle, and what you are trying to achieve. This is why the consultation matters. There is no one-size-fits-all.
The Hair Cost Is Separate
Our fitting prices start from £55 per hour. But the actual extension hair is a separate cost and varies based on length, quality, and how much you need. We will give you an all-in quote at the consultation so there are no surprises on the day.
Aftercare Is Not Optional
This is the bit people underestimate. Extensions need specific brushing, specific washing, specific sleeping habits. You cannot just treat them like your normal hair. If you skip the aftercare, they will tangle, matt, and damage your natural hair underneath.
We go through everything with you after fitting. Follow the routine and they will last beautifully. Ignore it and you will be back sooner than planned, spending more money fixing the problem.
They Need Regular Maintenance
Nanos need moving up every 3 to 4 months. Tapes and wefts every 6 to 8 weeks. This is not a one-and-done service. Factor the maintenance appointments into your budget and your schedule.
They Should Be Invisible
Good extensions look like your own hair. Nobody should be able to tell. If someone has told you that extensions always look obvious, they have only seen bad ones. Properly fitted, colour-matched extensions blend seamlessly. That is the whole point.
