A cut and blow dry at our salon includes the consultation, the wash, the cut, and the finish. It does not include colour, toner, or any chemical treatment. Cut and finish with us is forty-two to fifty-five pounds. A blow dry on its own is twenty-eight to thirty-five pounds. A curly blow dry is thirty to thirty-eight pounds. Plan for forty-five minutes to an hour in the chair.
I get asked this almost every week, usually after a client has been somewhere that quietly added on three things they did not realise were extras. Here is the honest version.
The short version
Includes consultation, wash, cut, blow dry, finish
Cut and finish is forty-two to fifty-five pounds
Plan for forty-five minutes to an hour
Colour, toner, and treatments are not included
Curly blow dry is thirty to thirty-eight pounds
The consultation
Every appointment starts with a proper chat. Not a quick "what are we doing today" as I lead you to the basin. A real conversation about your hair, what you want, what is realistic, and what will work with how you wear it day to day.
If you are new to us, this matters even more. I want to see how your hair grows, where the cowlicks are, what shape your face is, and what you have tried before. Bring pictures if you have them. They help. But I will also tell you honestly if a style will not suit you.
This bit is included in the price. It is not an upsell. It is the most important five minutes of the appointment.
The wash
A salon wash is not a quick rinse. We use a shampoo that suits your hair type, double cleanse if your hair needs it, and finish with a conditioner or treatment depending on what you have come in with.
If your hair is dry, brittle, or colour-treated, we will use something richer. If you have got product build-up, we will get it properly clean. The head massage is part of it too. That is included.
The cut
This is what you came for, but it is also where most of the time goes. A proper cut takes thought. I am looking at how your hair falls, where it needs weight removed, where the line should sit, and how it will dry naturally.
Cut and finish with us is £42 to £55 depending on your stylist and the length and density of your hair. If you are coming in for a full restyle, something significantly different from what you have got now, that is £60 and takes longer.
A cut should look good wet, but more importantly it should look good dry, and it should still look good in three weeks when you have been washing and styling it yourself.
The blow dry
This is the bit people underestimate. A salon blow dry is not just drying your hair. It is shaping it with a brush, building volume at the root if you need it, smoothing the lengths, and finishing with a bit of styling so you actually leave looking how you wanted to look.
A blow dry on its own with us is £28 to £35. A curly blow dry, using rollers or a tong to add proper shape, is £30 to £38. The difference between a sloppy blow dry and a good one is mostly skill and patience, and that is what you are paying for.
What is not included
A cut and blow dry covers the cut, the wash, the dry, and the finish. It does not include colour, toner, or any chemical service.
If you book a cut and blow dry but want a root tint as well, that is added on. Root tint is £40 to £47, a toner add-on is £20. We will always quote you upfront so there are no surprises at the till.
Treatments are similar. A standard conditioner is part of the wash. A bond builder or a deep treatment is an add-on. We will suggest one if your hair actually needs it. Not as a sales pitch.
How long a cut and blow dry takes
For a cut and blow dry, plan for 45 minutes to an hour. Longer hair, thicker hair, or a curly finish will push it closer to 75 to 90 minutes. A full restyle can take two hours.
If you are tight on time, tell us when you book. We will let you know honestly if it can be done well in the slot you have, or if you should rebook for longer. We would rather you came back than rush it.
Booking
Cut and blow dry appointments fill up fast on Saturdays. Tuesday and Thursday evenings are usually easier if you work full time. We are open Tuesday and Wednesday until 8pm.
Hair grows about half an inch a month, a rate the NHS describes as roughly 1 to 1.5 centimetres per month, which is why most people need a cut every eight to twelve weeks to keep shape and stop split ends spreading.
You can book online or call us on 01582 730381. We are at Shop 660, Jansel House, Hitchin Road, Stopsley, Luton LU2 7XH. Klarna is available if you want to split the cost.
If you have got questions about which stylist suits what you want, ask when you call. Ashleigh, Keira, Sabrina and Shree each have slightly different specialisms, and we are happy to point you in the right direction.
